These photographic shadow boxes, inspired by my love of travel, history and music, consist of a 3-demensonal mixed media collage of polaroid transfers on watercolor paper. They are embellished with pastels and watercolor paint. Some are composed within a hand drawn and silk screened mat (Music series, etc.).

All photos are original and were taken myself on location using 35mm slide film. In the studio the image is hand transferred to wet watercolor paper using polaroid film. This technique results in a faded fresco like image that merges the worlds of photography and painting. Each piece is individually created and signed.

The shadow boxes (4 level) are 1.1/4" deep and the single & double layer Polaroid transfer pictures have a 3/4" depth. All are framed with picture glass in a black lacquer wood frame and are hang ready with hangers on the back.

Music Cities USA Series : Are shadowbox tributes to 6 of Americas greatest music cities (New Orleans, Memphis, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Austin) and their inspired music. To capture a city's atmosphere, each piece is composed from photos taken at various locations and times. The outside mat shows notable music stars, instruments, songs, and record labels. The mat is hand drawn then screened. Color selection is based on mood and energy of the city's musical style.
